Karren Brady to join Arcadia as first female director

Karren Brady, vice chair of West Ham United football club and former managing director of Birmingham City football club, is expected to join the board of Arcadia Group.

Brady, currently on our TV screens as assistant to Lord Sugar in Junior Apprentice, is due to become a non-executive director in September, according to reports. She would be the first female board director recruited by Green, despite Arcadia dressing millions of women each year through its brands, which include Top Shop, Dorothy Perkins and Wallis.

She is also chairman of EMAP's Kerrang!, and has a seat on the board of Sport England, whilst also acting as a non-executive director of Mothercare and Channel 4 television.
