Venturefest Oxford 2013: nothing ventured, nothing gained

Formula E race team owner and former British Government Science Minister, Paul Drayson, whose company has pioneered green racing technology by developing second-generation bio fuels and electric vehicles, is to be the keynote speaker at Venturefest Oxford, the county’s premier annual business networking event being staged at the Saïd Business School, in Oxford, on Tuesday 18th June.

This foremost business creation event presents real-time opportunities for would-be entrepreneurs to pitch for funding, meet experts, see big science in action and become part of a supportive business community network.

Over 1,000 entrepreneurs, start-ups, venture capitalists, private investors and advisors will gather, under one roof, to showcase latest innovations and forge strategic partnerships that will undoubtedly shape the future of the local economy, in the months and years ahead.

Fledgling businesses can take flight by meeting potential mentors and finding the investment funding needed to take innovative ideas from blue sky to the bottom line.

This year Venturefest Oxford will turn the spotlight on four key science and technology clusters in Oxfordshire, all of significance to local and global economies. Leading proponents from the space industry, motorsport and high performance engineering, cryogenics, and biosciences will gather to exchange ideas and explore cross-sector synergies.

As Dave Waller, Chair of Venturefest Oxford explains: “Venturefest is not just a talking shop but a place where real business is done and deals are made. As the saying goes: nothing ventured, nothing gained, and anyone with the passion to succeed and a vision of taking their business ideas to market can seize the moment at Venturefest Oxford to make their ambitions fly off the page”.
