What do you currently do?

I am the proud founder and CEO of Drew London, a branding and creative communications agency based in Clerkenwell.

I support and lead a multidisciplinary team of experts; we deliver inspiring and engaging creative for over 40 clients ranging from investment banks, hospitality providers, shoe designers, smoothie makers, social movements and charities.

What was the inspiration behind your business?

My grandfather and company namesake, Major George Drew. A WWII POW who spent time in Colditz. Phenomenally creative; his endeavours ranged from carving chess sets whilst captive, to writing books and brewing alcohol! He was beyond passionate about marketing communications, an inspiration throughout my life and a driving force behind Drew.

What defines your way of doing business?

Listening, empathising and supporting. Kindness is key to everything we do. We are on the creative journey alongside our clients, through the highs and lows of running a business. We are driven by our client’s success.

Who do you admire?

Two people stand out, one from birth and one more recently.

Birth: My mother, a working Mum (back in the office 10 days after I was born), set up a company and lead the medical photography world for over 40 years, moving with the times from darkrooms right up to digital photography.

Recently: Lady Barbara Judge, the first female Chairman of the Institute of Directors. A rare mix of grace and enormous presence, yet completely approachable. She is a force for women in business.

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?

Focus. Once I’d set Drew London up, in May 2005, I went on to set up three other companies, I was a start-up addict. I eventually learnt that I needed to focus and deliver on one company rather than multiple.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out?

Know your values and stick to them. We have rejected working with certain clients if they don’t feel ethical or passionate about their product or service. Always go with your gut feeling!
