HonestBrew crowdfunding campaign raises over £400k

HonestBrew reached their target of £300k in just two weeks and went on to overfund, receiving investment from 446 investors. These include their existing investors, More Than Angels and Turning Point, reinvesting alongside the crowd.

Luke Lang, co-founder of Crowdcube commented: “On Crowdcube, over £30 million has been invested in businesses from the food and beverage sector. HonestBrew’s successful crowdfunding round, which saw them raise over their initial investment target, further demonstrates how our growing crowd of over 210,000 people have a real thirst for investment opportunities in this sector.”

As well as promoting the fundraising campaign to their customers, partner breweries and followers, HonestBrew also encouraged prospective investors with rewards: a year’s subscription of craft beer, having your face printed on a limited edition beer, etc.

Launched in 2014, HonestBrew has grown rapidly to become an award-winning online craft beer retailer and has recently been announced as ‘Retail Business of the Year’ finalist in the Startups Awards.

Andrew Reeve, Founder of HonestBrew commented: “We’re thrilled to have reached our target so quickly on Crowdcube and we’re excited to welcome hundreds of new investors, including many of our own customers, to HonestBrew. The funds raised will allow us to accelerate our growth, continue investing in our unique technology and increase the number of world-class breweries we work with.”
