Institute of Directors’ first national forum for the business leaders of tomorrow

Young business leaders from across the UK are set to gather in
Manchester on 25 May 2010 for the Institute of Directors’ first
National Young Directors’ Conference.The programme has been designed by the organisation’s younger members and responds to the concerns and aspirations of the UK’s next generation of top professionals and entrepreneurs. An impressive line up of speakers, topical interactive sessions and peer networking make the event a must for all those keen to develop their leadership skills and foster an entrepreneurial and dynamic culture within their organisation.

The conference follows on from the success of the Young Directors’ Forums which are now a feature in most IoD regions across the country. Keynote speakers at the conference include Torsten Schuppe, Marketing Director UK and Ireland at Google; Was Rahman, CEO of Dolphin Advisory and advisor to UK Trade & Investment (UKTI); Priya Lakhani, entrepreneurial founder of Masala Masala; and Katherine Corich, founder and Group CEO of Sysdoc. Expert seminars focusing on the attributes of strong leadership and the competitive benefits of brand differentiation will be led respectively by Simon Holland, Senior Partner at rogenSi; and Richard Williams, Co-Founder and Director of Williams Murray Hamm. Inspiration will be in plentiful supply thanks to Colonel Charlie Stickland OBE, of the Royal Marines and former Commanding Officer of 42 Commando; Tim Bean, performance and fitness guru; and Steve Elworthy, former South African international cricketer and now Tournament Director of cricket’s World Twenty20 Championship.
