Startup Britain helps businesses go global over the olympics

While, 500,000 visitors descend on the UK during the Olympic celebrations, StartUp Britain hopes British businesses will jump through hurdles for the chance to attend TradeUp, a free one-day-only event that will offer UK businesses an insight into how to unlock the growing opportunities to trade overseas.

The August 6 event will take place in London’s City Hall, with speeches and panel discussion from a range of experts on export.

StartUp Britain co-founder Emma Jones, business expert and author of Go Global: How to Take Your Business to the World, said: “The UK exports £257bn worth of goods a year, with services to got on top of that figure. There has never been a better opportunity to take your business overseas. With the technology we now have at our fingertips, you can start a business and be trading with the world within days.

“We hope this free event will demystify trading overseas and help to open up the world to British business while the rest of the world comes to us!”

Speakers include Kit Malthouse, John Varco, head of business development at PayPal, Iris Cai, Chinese trade expert and BBC Radio 5 Mandarin teacher, Gabriela Castro-Fontura, director of Sunny Sky Solutions, Emma Jones and will be closed by Rajeeb Dey, founder of Enternships.
