A Tailor-made Winner!

Warren founded the world’s first online tailoring company, A Suit That Fits, along with his business partner David Hathiramani in 2006.
His success in the awards has earned him a £2,000 cash prize, £2000 worth of vouchers to spend at Viking Direct and 50,000 Nectar points.
Warren comments; “I am absolutely thrilled to have won this award – the recognition makes all the challenges and hard work along the way well worth it. We have a fantastic team behind the business and this success is down to all of us.”
A Suit That Fits offers a staggering range of quality suits with over 40 billion style combinations available! Customers can visit one of A Suit That Fits’ 25 locations nationwide or order their individually hand-tailored suit entirely online at the click of a button. Each suit is unique and fits the customer’s frame, budget and personal style. No two of the 30,000 orders that Warren and David have dealt with in the last four years have ever been the same.
From humble beginnings, with no experience in retail, using money loaned on a credit card and a tailor in Nepal, the business has progressed no end. It now has a UK network of 25 permanent and pop-up branches, a team of tailors in Nepal and 35 staff in London.
Warren comments; “Our overarching aim is to become ‘Britain’s local tailor’ and to empower people to order their suits online.” But it’s not just for themselves that Warren and David want to grow their business far and wide; “Our success extends beyond the business here and has a huge impact on those we work with.
We are really proud to say we pay our team in Nepal 50% above the local rate and donate 5% from the cost of each suit to a local school out there. Last year, we funded a new science block and this year, we want to open a new computer laboratory” Warren adds.
Charlie Humphreys, Client Development Director at Nectar and one of the award judges comments: “Warren’s award entry really stood out. Working alongside his business partner David and the rest of the A Suit That Fits team they’ve achieved so much and built up a fantastic business in only four years. His entrepreneurial sprit and flare for business is what the Nectar Business Small Business Awards are all about, celebrating great business ideas and recognising the dedication and achievements of those behind small businesses all over the UK.
“The awards have been a huge success this year and serve as a reminder that despite the recent tough economic climate for small businesses there is no end to the creativity, determination and sheer hard work of UK entrepreneurs.”
In addition to James Caan and Charlie Humphreys, the winners of this year’s Nectar Business Small Business Awards were chosen by judges Guy Clapperton – a small business journalist, and contributor to Business Matters – and John-O’Keeffe, Merchandising and Marketing Director UK and Ireland at Office Depot.
