‘Have you got news for us?

The Business & IP Centre has teamed up with the two experts to deliver a fast-paced, practical and interactive introduction to working with the media. Participants learn to identify news through the eyes of a journalist, master the art of composing a press release and then how best to flag up their own story by being able to tackle those all-important calls to the press or broadcast stations. Learning from each other and drawing from the resources at the British Library Business & IP Centre adds to the dynamism of this event.

“Inside every smaller business are great news stories and valuable expertise which journalists really need”, says Louise, who wants to help as many smaller companies as possible gain valuable media exposure. “Our workshop is very practical and delegates leave with a solid understanding of how to work with the media,” says journalist Maisha. “Several participants have gained valuable national coverage as a result of putting our advice into practice.”

Jamison Combs, Founder and Managing Director of Natural Balance Foods who took part in a previous workshop said “Integra’s workshop was extremely hands-on, practical and immediately helpful. The clarity, quality and effectiveness of our PR and media communication have dramatically improved since the workshop.  Louise and Maisha have a wealth of valuable experience and communicate it effectively.  I consider the workshop essential training for any emerging business and only wish I had attended sooner.”

Gaby Rose, Business Engagement Manager for the Business & IP Centre, comments: “This workshop is so practical and full of great ideas to really help businesses better promote themselves. Now more than ever the press are always looking for the next great success story to publish. Small Businesses, Entrepreneurs and Inventors really should attend this workshop and get the most out of it”
