Budding businesses invited to pitch for investment at special Venturefest event

The event is an ideal opportunity to get in front of not just one, but many potential investors, Pitchfest proves to be highly relevant for companies across various sectors.

Venturefest Oxford will see 21 hopeful applicants from internet & e-business, life sciences, and high tech sectors to pitch their ideas and products to a group of 21 potential investors, mostly local venture capitalists.

Presentations on the day will introduce innovations ranging from wearable fall detection technology, educational mobile apps, and ultra-fast chargers for mobile phones, to fuel consumption reduction technology. After six-minute morning presentations, business representatives will be able to pitch their ideas to investors individually in afternoon one-to-one meetings.

The Pitchfest initiative has already helped three local companies to secure vital investment capital to underpin the growth of their business ventures, following the first-ever Pitchfest event organised by Venturefest Oxford in February. Successful pitches included Adaptix (improving X-ray technology), Oxford Space Systems (developing next-generation deployable space structures), and Ducentis BioTherapeutics (developing novel therapies for inflammation and autoimmune disease) – all receiving substantial investment support.

Venturefest Oxford is now in its 17th year, serving as a gateway for entrepreneurs and innovators to connect with investors and advisors at all stages of the business life cycle. Events such as Pitchfest promote its mission to provide a platform supporting the innovation ecosystem in Oxfordshire, offering new and growing businesses, investors and innovators connections to support, services and opportunities.
